|Welcome. Our goal is
to practice movement as a means to a healthy, integrated,
self-confidant and powerful life. The
principle at the
root of our training activities is called "wu wei".
The ancient Chinese phrase "wu wei" () can be translated as "non-contrivance", "non-interference". What does this interference mean to you? What causes it? How can you avoid it?
By interference, we mean any mental or physical activity that keeps you from realizing the potential power that you were given at birth. From this power comes the abundance of things you are designed to have, such as health, happiness, peace of mind, self-confidence and freedom.
The cause of this interference lies in the habits that you form during the course of your life. Fresh into the world you had direct access to your potential power, yet sometimes habits form which cause your mental and physical activities to become misdirected or wasted.
You eliminate this interference by replacing the undesirable physical and mental habits with new habits, habits which provide you free access to your potential power.
In self defense work you accomplish wu wei through moving away from a passive victim mentality towards a state of mind and body that is energetic, independent and creatively involved. In this state you are not constrained by external circumstances and therefore can truly be considered “free”.
In qigong work you accomplish wu wei through deep relaxation, deep breathing and guided movement. You accelerate your healing process, vibrate with health, soar to your highest energy levels and deepen your sense of well being.
In meditation work you accomplish wu wei through using natural wake and rest cycles to propel yourself into a state of harmony with your potential inborn power. This allows you to easily and quickly make positive changes in your life.
