Teaches classes in qigong.

"I have always been fascinated by the health benefits of movement and awareness practices. Through the years I have been blessed with opportunities to explore contemporary and improvisational dance, Tango, the dramatic arts, walking, running, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, Pilates, yoga, qigong and meditation. In the mid-1990s I became especially interested in cultivating lifestyle practices that would enhance my overall health and wellness. It was this turning point which led me to qigong and meditation-- two disciplines I continue to practice almost 20 years on.
In working with students, through my training with the Wu Wei School of Movement, I noticed that many of them complained of feeling overly-stressed in their work-life and in their life in general. Several of them mentioned that they often felt short on time and that they had little energy left in the day to take proper care of themselves-- even though they acknowledged the importance of doing so. This got me thinking. How many people out there don't have the benefit of stress-reduction tools like a qigong class, a meditation workshop or a regular exercise program? How many people are in need of simple, practical solutions to help them make healthy exercise and peace of mind a part of their daily reality? My mission is to give my students practical solutions for fitting movement and mindfulness practices into their every day, and to introduce the stress-reducing benefits of qigong and meditation. It is my great pleasure to be able to share these integrated awareness tools. Simple is best, I believe, because if you can be consistent with your practices you benefit the most from them."
